'I Was Hoping To Have A Place In Real Madrid'

A Real Madrid attacker, who has been loaned out, reveals he was disappointing not to have been playing with Los Blancos this season.
Martin Odegaard was 16 when he joined Los Blancos in 2015, but he has only made one first team appearance.
The Danish international has been loaned to Vitesse where he has made nine appearances, yielding one goal in the process but he says he is working hard to realise his dream.
“I was hoping to have a place in Madrid, I trained all summer and played a few minutes in pre-season,” Odegaard told Voetbal International, according to Marca.
“But in the end the club and I decided that the best option for me was to play somewhere else, it is never easy to accept straight away.
“But you have to be modest, how many 19-year-olds are in Madrid? The road is long and I have confidence in myself, I know I have to work hard, learn in each game and keep adding minutes.
“My final goal is clear: continue playing and improving because I renewed my contract (at Madrid) and I take that as a gesture of confidence.”
