The Brazilian was re-called to the Barca line-up against Rayo Vallecano, but his presence was greeted with whistles from certain sections from the supporters.
The Catalan giants went on to claim a 3-1 win victory to restore their seven-point lead over Atletico Madrid.
Speaking after the victory, Pique revealed they have to accept the reception from the supporters.
"He is having a good season. The cost of the player was very high and this also implies that the expectations are higher on him," Pique was quoted as saying by AS.
"You have to accept the reaction of the fans and you have to respect it but as teammates you have to give him all your support. We need him at his best level."
