Spanish giants FC Barcelona are reportedly close to signing a new wonderkid from Lionel Messi's boyhood club.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana are in talks with midfielder Juan Sforza, who has come through the academy of Newell's Old Boys – Messi's boyhood club.
Sforza is the captain of Argentina's U17 side, which is managed by Albiceleste legend Pablo Aimar, and plays in central midfield or on the flanks.
The 18-year-old has already made 16 appearances for his country's national U17 team, and captained the side to Copa Sudamerica glory recently.
He also played at the FIFA U17 World Cup, where his team was knocked out at the last 16 stage.
Sforza seems to be the latest jewel from Newell's, who produced players such as Messi, Gabriel Batistuta, Jorge Valdano, Roberto Sensini and Mauricio Pochettino, among others.
