FC Barcelona Star Signs New Deal
An FC Barcelona star has committed his future to the Catalan club by signing a contract until 2022.
The Spanish club announced on Thursday afternoon that defender Gerard Pique has signed a new deal that will only expire in four years' time.
It has been explained via the club's official website that they will announce the date of the official signing at a later stage.
Pique is a product of the Catalan club's famous youth academy La Masia, and has played 421 games, and won 25 trophies, with the first team so far.
The Spaniard did, however, spend some time away from the club, playing for Manchester United between 2004 and 2008, although one of those seasons was spent at Real Zaragoza on loan.
Pique has won everything there is to win as a professional footballer at international and club level, including the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2012 European Championship with Spain.
