FC Barcelona’s Plan To Sign Antoine Griezmann Revealed?
Reports suggest that FC Barcelona have a special plan up their sleeves to sign Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann at the end of the season.
According to Spanish publication Sport, the Blaugrana plan to offer the France international a contract that will see him earn “a relatively low salary with high bonuses” so that Catalan club's wage budget doesn’t balloon excessively.
There is also talk that the Blaugrana are even prepared to pay more than his €100 million (R1.44 billion) release clause in order to “avoid any hostilities” with the Rojiblancos, who have a very good business relationship with the Catalan side.
Griezmann, who is expected to leave his current side, apparently has his heart set on staying in LaLiga and is more than happy to move to Barcelona at the end of this season.
The superstar has also been linked with Manchester United in the past, but it seems like the player is not interested in making any move to the Premier League.
The Blaugrana has spent well over €200 million (R2.89 billion) to bring in the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele already and it seems like Griezmann might be their next high profile signing.
Griezmann has made 38 appearances for Atletico this season, scoring 23 goals and assisting in a further 13 more.
