Legendary midfielder Andres Iniesta bade farewell to FC Barcelona on Sunday night, and Luis Suarez has now sent an emotional message to the departing Spaniard.

The 34-year-old has officially left the Catalan giants following 22 years at the club, with whom he won 32 major trophies.

Sad to see the veteran leave Barca, Suarez has now penned a long goodbye message to the departing Iniesta, whom he believes is an example for all ages.

"Andriu, my friend. Four years ago when I arrived in Barcelona, and even though before arriving we already had a relationship, I could tell from the first day that you're a different person," Suarez wrote, according to Marca.

"It wasn't an easy moment for me, the opposite, but from the start you showed me warmth and confidence. You supported me at all times.

"I'm not going to tell you now about the great footballer that you are... you have defended this club with passion, commitment and honour since you arrived as a 12-year-old. You're an example for everyone.

"Brother, I wish you the best in the next chapter of your career. I am convinced it will be successful, speaking about you it couldn't be any other way. You're a great. Thanks for everything, captain, we will miss you a lot."
