FC Barcelona star Antoine Griezmann has been urged to leave the Catalan giants in order to save his career.
The Frenchman started the latest El Clasico on the bench and only featured for nine minutes of the Blaugrana's 3-1 defeat to bitter rivals Real Madrid on Saturday.
He is also yet to score or assist a goal in the 2020/21 campaign as he struggles to cement a place in Ronald Koeman's plans.
Countryman Bixente Lizarazu has now insisted that the €120 million (R2.3 billion) signing should think about ending his Barca stint before it is too late.
"Griezmann is great. He's a very, very good player and he's fantastic for France. But he isn't at all for Barcelona. This is a real problem," the former Bayern Munich left-back told Telefoot on Sunday.
"He went to Barcelona with a dream of playing with Lionel Messi, but unfortunately there is no technical relationship between the two.
"He cannot find his position, he can no longer player football with Barca. It's a crisis of confidence.
"At some point, it is better to cut off your hand than your arm. Do not hesitate to leave when you cannot find your place.
"It's been 18 months, not just two... the situation is really critical."
Griezmann has fallen behind Ansu Fati in the Barcelona pecking order, with the wonderkid once again making headlines when he became the youngest El Clasico goalscorer in the 21st century over the weekend.
