Spanish giants FC Barcelona have released an official statement regarding how long 18-year-old African-born sensation Ansu Fati will spend on the sidelines.
The Spain international picked up an injury during the Blaugrana's LaLiga match against Real Betis on the weekend, which forced him to miss the second half of his side's 5-2 win at the Camp Nou.
On Monday, Fati underwent surgery for his ruptured meniscus, but the winger will now be out recovering until about March 2021, according to the club.
The statement on Barcelona's website read: "The first team player Ansu Fati has been operated on successfully by Dr. Ramon Cugat for the injury to the internal meniscus of his left knee under the supervision of the club's medical staff. The player will be out for approximately four months."
Fati had featured in 10 matches this season before picking his first big injury, scoring five goals and assisting a further four strikes in that time.
