After it appeared the 21-year-old was off to Roma this week, Catalan giants Barca made a late move for the winger to secure his services ahead of the new campaign.
Reports suggested that the Spanish side spent €41 million (R635 million) to sign Malcom – a left-footer who prefers to play on the right-hand side of attack.
Speaking on his move, the player praised superstar Lionel Messi, as well as the Brazilians who have worn the Barca shirt before him.
"Messi is the best player in the world. He's a legend. And I hope to learn a lot from him," Malcom told the club's official website.
"When I was little, my idol was Ronaldinho. Neymar too. I hope to follow in the footsteps of all the great Brazilian players who triumphed at Barca."
The player was unveiled in the US, where the Catalans are currently spending their pre-season, on Thursday.
