With FC Barcelona's presidential elections currently taking place, a shock manager has been lined up to replace Ronald Koeman should Joan Laporta be voted in as president.
According to RAC1, the Spanish giants could be looking to replace the Dutch tactician with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. This, however, will only happen if Laporta wins Barcelona's presidential election, which could also be a key factor in whether or not Lionel Messi stays at the club at the end of the season.
Despite reports suggesting that the Blaugrana could target Arteta, Laporta has previously said he is happy with how Koeman has done since being appointed boss.
The Gunners manager came through the Spanish giants' youth academy, but failed to make a single appearance for the club before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in 2001.
Koeman has taken charge of 38 matches for Barcelona since August last year, winning 25 games, drawing five times and losing on eight occasions.
The Blaugrana are currently second in LaLiga behind Atletico Madrid after 25 games, although Real Madrid are only one point behind them and have a game in hand over their rivals.
