Spanish giants FC Barcelona are reportedly getting ready to move for a shock target who is currently out of favour at his Premier League club.
According to Marca, the Catalan giants are considering a swoop for Liverpool and Belgium goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
With the Blaugrana's second-choice shot-stopper Jasper Cillessen being linked with a transfer away from Spain, Barca apparently feel Mignolet would be a sufficient enough replacement for the Dutchman.
The Belgian played back-up to Loris Karius for the most part of last season, and despite the German's major errors in the UEFA Champions League final in May, Mignolet is seemingly no closer to getting the No. 1 spot back.
The Reds recently signed Brazil goalkeeper Alisson from Roma, and manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested he will be his immediate first choice.
Wolfsburg goalkeeper Koen Casteels and Borussia Monchengladbach's Yann Sommer have also been linked with the Catalans, as has Real Sociedad's Geronimo Rulli.
Mignolet has played 202 matches for Liverpool since his arrival at the club in 2013, keeping 66 clean sheets along the way.
Do you think Mignolet would be a good back-up for Marc-Andre ter Stegen at Barca? Let us know in the comments section below.
