With it being said that FC Barcelona want to distance themselves from Ronaldinho, the club has now released a statement regarding the matter.
The Brazilian has been an ambassador of the club he once starred for as a player for the past few years, but his position appears in jeopardy over his support for Brazilian presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro, who has reportedly caused a storm with his racist, sexist and homophobic remarks in recent times.
Ronaldinho is a known supporter of the politician, which has led to reports suggesting that the Blaugrana want to distance themselves from the former Brazil international.
Barca spokesman Josep Vives has now confirmed the club is concerned about their former player's stance, and admitted they are still not sure how to react.
"Our democratic values do not coincide with what we have heard from this candidate," he said, according to Sport.
"We do respect the freedom of expression, including the words of Ronaldinho.
"We have not taken a decision on (whether Ronaldinho stays in his role or not). We will see further down the line."
