France international Samuel Umtiti has been tipped for a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, especially as the Blaugrana will reportedly not offer him the contract extension he feels he deserves.
The Spanish giants, who spent big money on Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho this season, reportedly cannot offer the defender the contract he would like, but Valverde does not think this has affected the player's morale.
"I don't know what Umtiti's said, I have not followed his comments," Valverde said, as quoted by Sport.
"What I understand is that he's really happy to be here and we're very happy with him. We hope the negotiations go well and that he's here for many more years because he means a lot on and off the pitch."
It is believed that Umtiti's buyout clause is set at €60 million (R878 million), a fee the Red Devils apparently believe is reasonable for an established centre back.
The 24-year-old has made 35 appearances for the Blaugrana so far this season, eight of those in the Champions League.
