Ex-Real Madrid and FC Barcelona star Ronaldo Reveals Who He Thinks Is The Best Spanish Player In History
Former Real Madrid and FC Barcelona star Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima has revealed the one star who he thinks will go down as the best Spanish player in history once he retires.
The former Brazil international believes midfielder Andres Iniesta, who announced he would be leaving the Blaugrana at the end of the season, should go down in the books as his country’s best and also believes, like many others, that the 33-year-old deserved to win the Ballon d’Or in his career.
"He deserved the Ballon d'Or, but I don't think he needs it,” Ronaldo told a radio program El Larguero, as quoted by AS.
“I sent him a message on Instagram congratulating him on his career.
“He'll go down as the best Spanish player in history - I don't remember seeing another Spanish player with so much quality, with so many attributes... That's why many people love him."
Iniesta won the European Championship in 2008 and 2012, while he also played a major role in Spain’s 2010 FIFA World Cup win, scoring their only goal in the final against the Netherlands.
Do you think Iniesta would deservedly go down as the best Spanish player in history? Have your say in the comments section below.
