Argentina legend Diego Maradona, who is widely considered as one of the greats of the game, has named who he believes would have been the best player in football history if he had not struggled with injuries.
The likes of Lionel Messi, Maradona, Pele, Ronaldinho and Cristiano Ronaldo are all mentioned as some of the greatest players to have played the sport.
While taste is subjective and the debate will always contain preference, there are many who believe that Brazil icon Ronaldo Nazario should also be in the discussion, although injuries clearly hindered his career.
Despite fitness issues, Ronaldo is still considered as one of the best No. 9s ever, and Maradona feels he would have been the greatest of all time had he not been sidelined so often.
"If it were not for the injuries, he (Ronaldo) would have been the best of all history," he said in a recent interview, according to the Daily Express.
The 41-year-old retired from top-flight football in 2011, after scoring 291 goals in 438 club career games and 62 international goals for Brazil.
