Philippe Coutinho completed a move to FC Barcelona last month, but a Liverpool legend does not believe the Brazil international is worth €140 million.
Coutinho failed to secure a move to the Camp Nou in the last transfer window, after the Reds reportedly rejected three bids.
However, the parties eventually agreed on a deal and the 25-year-old is now a Catalan giants player, but Reds legend Jamie Carragher has criticsed the move.
"I don't agree with losing him in the middle of the season," Carragher said on Sky Sports.
"At that time, Liverpool were alive in the FA Cup and are still in the Champions League
.''Liverpool fans, including myself, felt good when Coutinho stayed in the summer, although we knew he was going to go to the end of the season.
''It was put to Carragher that perhaps both the club and the player couldn't turn down that sort of money. '
'Coutinho isn't so good, and he's not worth 140 million euros."
"I would've preferred him to earn a little less money, make sure the club had him in this part of the season, and then let him go in the summer."
