There has been a huge improvement in results and performances at the Blaugrana since Xavi's appointment last year, although their run of three defeats in their past five matches proves the Spanish giants are still far from the finished project.
It has been claimed Xavi wants to bring new players to the club in the coming window, although it has also been acknowledged that the Catalan side must ship out those he does not have plans for, such as defenders Clement Lenglet and Samuel Umtiti.
The two French centre-backs appear to have struggled to impress the ex-Barcelona captain in his short time in charge, with Umtiti, in particular, out of favour in Spain.
Following his 2016 transfer from Olympique Lyon to the Blaugrana, the left-footed defender quickly became an integral part of the side until injuries seemed to stall his progress and made regular game time hard to come by.
After making just 16 appearances under Ronald Koeman, Umtiti has managed to feature on just one occasion for Xavi, thus making it likely he will depart the Camp Nou at the end of the season.
Youth academy graduate Oscar Mingueza, meanwhile, has reportedly been placed on the transfer list by the manager, while on-loan striker Luuk de Jong will apparently not see his temporary stay extended.
Memphis Depay, who is Barcelona's joint-top scorer with 11 goals in all competitions, has played just 760 minutes since Xavi replaced Koeman, with the majority of his appearances coming as a substitute.
