Freixa, Joan Laporta and Victor Font will contest for the role after Josep Bartomeu Maria stepped down as club president last year.
While Laporta and Font are seen as the frontrunners, Freixa is now boosting his campaign with the promise of two players in attack and defence for next season.
“There’s an agreement with two players in attack and defence, any player that wants to win the Ballon d’Or knows that they’re only going to be able to win it if they wear Barcelona’s shirt," Freixa told Cadena Ser, according to Diario Sport.
