FC Barcelona have been linked with number players ahead of the January transfer window, but one of their stars is reportedly close to joining another European giant in deal reportedly worth €38m.
Following the arrival of Frenkie de Jong in the last transfer window, Ivan Rakitic has seemingly dropped down the pecking order under Ernesto Valverde.
According to Spanish publication El Desmarque, Rakitic is closing in on a switch to Serie A Inter Milan in the January transfer window.
The Croatian midfielder has constantly been linked with an exit at the Camp Nou as the club are yet to offer him a contract extension.
Diario Sport also reported that Rakitic's days at Barcelona are number and Inter favourites to the midfielder, despite Manchester United's reported interest.
One team who won't be signing the Croatian is Juventus, who have already ruled out a future move.
“Our squad is complete and we consider it to be one of the best in Europe,” Juventus director Fabio Paratici said when asked about Rakitic, as per Football Italia.
“We’re happy with our players. I’d rule out the arrival of a full-back. With Mandzukic, we chose a quiet time for him [to leave] but a move to Qatar did not materialise so he stayed with us.
“Now we’ll see what happens in January.”
