Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have been left angry after Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey joined Arsenal less than an hour before the transfer window closed on Monday.
The 27-year-old was on Los Rojiblancos' books for nine years, but departed on deadline day after the Gunners triggered his £45 million (R965 million) release clause.
While the act of activating a buyout clause means no negotiating between the two clubs needed to be done, Atletico are reportedly upset with the Ghana international for accepting the move.

The LaLiga side is also reportedly angry with Arsenal, who, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, did not contact Atletico to inform them of their decision to purchase the player.
The London club is believed to have dealt directly with LaLiga when paying the buyout clause, but what reportedly infuriated Diego Simeone and Atletico was that Partey did not let them know he was undergoing a medical in Spain late on Monday night.
The holding midfielder represented Atletico on 188 occasions during his time in Spain, and became one of the most sought-after players in the world in his position.
