FIFA World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann has revealed who the best opponent he has played against is, and the answer might come as a shock considering it is not FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi or Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Atletico Madrid talisman, who finished in third place in the 2016 and 2018 editions of Ballon d'Or, has highlighted Frenkie de Jong as the best player he has shared a football pitch with, having played against him with France against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League.
The 21-year-old sent shockwaves throughout the globe when he became the most expensive Dutchman in the history of the game after signing a five-year contract with LaLiga giants Barcelona in a staggering deal worth €75 million (R1.16 billion), plus €11 million (171 million) being allocated in add-ons.
Griezmann has now revealed his admiration for the Ajax Amsterdam star, who is set to be unveiled at the Camp Nou in July.
"I would say De Jong, from Ajax Amsterdam," the Frenchman told Oh My Goal.
"Because I tried to put pressure on him and never succeeded."
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner was also asked who he considers the best player of all time, and explained that it is a tough call between Messi, Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane.
"It depends on the era, but I would say either Messi or Cristiano," he added.
"I never saw how Diego Maradona or Pele played. It's a tough question, everyone has their own style.
"There is also Zinedine Zidane... He won the World Cup, Messi and Ronaldo never have."
