FC Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta, who recently left the Catalan giants, has made a big, and perhaps surprising, claim about Real Madrid.
The 34-yerar-old moved on from the Blaugrana following 22 successful years at the club, where he won an incredible 32 trophies for the senior side.
Iniesta joined the club's famous La Masia youth academy in 1996, and despite his small frame, became one of the best players Barca has ever produced.
In a recent interview, however, Iniesta hinted that things may have been different had he chosen a different path, revealing that Los Blancos came in for his signature on more than one occasion.
"There have been some moments when Madrid has shown interest in me, there have never been negotiations beyond the fact that I wanted to be there," he said, according to The Sun.
"But, since I stepped into La Masia, I was going to triumph at Barcelona.
"The beginning was not easy. But I always preferred to play 10 minutes here than for another team."
Africans Who Have Won The Champions League
Iniesta played 675 games for the Catalan giants, with whom he won nine LaLiga titles and four UEFA Champions League trophies, among many other pieces of silverware.
