Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann, who is just 30 years old, has been spoken of as a possible candidate for the Real job since last year.
In 2017, he told beIN SPORTS that "If next week Real Madrid call and want me then I'd perhaps ask (Hoffenheim owner) Dietmar Hopp if he'd let me go. But Real won't call."
Valencia manager Marcelino Garcia Toral is also a manager Florentino Perez could turn to, although his criticism of Los Blancos in December last year might not have done him many favours.
Ronald Koeman is also one of the names being mentioned as a possible replacement, although there has been talk that the former Everton manager could soon be named as the Netherlands' new boss.
According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspurs' Mauricio Pochettino is one of the main candidates for the job, as is Antonio Conte, whose future at Chelsea is believed to be in doubt.
Former Real boss Carlo Ancelotti has been linked with a return to the Santiago Bernabeu, while former Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc is also said to be an option.
German manager Thomas Tuchel, who is currently unemployed, has also been tipped as someone who could take over from Zidane.
It remains unclear as to whether or not Perez will replace the Frenchman after this season, given the eight trophies he has won since 2016.
