According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants are interested in signing Manchester City and Spain attacker Ferran Torres, who is currently out injured.
With the 21-year-old said to be valued at about €70 million (R1.2 billion) by his club, it is likely Barcelona will need to sell a number of players in order to raise funds, and it now appears to be clear as to who those individuals could be.
It is suggested that as many as seven players have been deemed transferable by head coach Xavi, who was appointed earlier this month following the sacking of Ronald Koeman.
Out-of-favour centre-back Samuel Umtiti is said to be on the list, with the Frenchman having struggled with injuries and general fitness issues over the past two years.
Back-up goalkeeper Neto is also said to be for sale, as his Brazilian compatriot Philippe Coutinho, who was on target for the Blaugrana in their dramatic 3-1 LaLiga win over Villarreal on the weekend.
Young fullback Sergino Dest is another who is reportedly considered surplus to requirements by Xavi and the club's board, as is academy product and long-time first-team rotation player Sergi Roberto, who was once a teammate of his current manager's.
