The battle lines have been drawn for tonight's Copa Clasico tie, with Los Blancos aiming to avenge the humiliating 5-1 scoreline they suffered at the hands of their arch-rivals in a LaLiga encounter in October 2018.
With both Barca and Real having named their squads for the clash at the Camp Nou, a number of players are in contention to make their El Clasico debuts.
One of them is 18-year-old Los Blancos forward Vinícius Junior, who has cemented his spot in Santiago Solari's starting XI after completing a €45 million (R690 million) move to the club from Flamengo in the off-season. The teenager is poised for his first ever start against Barca, and has the most assists in the Copa del Rey, having been on hand to assist a total seven goals in the six games he has played in the competition so far, as per Transfermarkt.
Ghanaian star Kevin-Prince Boateng, who became the 14th African to turn out in the colours of the Blaugrana recently, is also in line to make his El Clasico debut after being named in the 19-man squad to face the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners.
Real academy graduate Sergio Reguilon, who has been in superb form when called upon by the LaLiga giants to deputise for veteran Brazilian defender Marcelo this season, is another who could make his first Clasico appearance tonight, especially given that the 22-year-old was named in the starting XI for two of the six games Real have played in the tournament this season.
Other players who could make their El Clasico debuts tonight include three Barcelona players: one of whom plied his trade for Serie A giants Inter Milan previously, a star who cost the Catalan giants €41 million (R635 million) in 2018, and a midfielder who graduated from the famous La Masia academy – click through the gallery above to see the full list!
