The Blaugrana's financial situation is seemingly forcing them to offload some of their big earners in order to bring in new faces in the coming window.
According to El Confidencial, Ronald Koeman has put together a four-man list of players who are not in his plans, and also named four "untouchables" in his squad.
It will not surprise many that Lionel Messi is among the latter, with the club desperate to keep hold of their captain.
In addition, youngsters Ansu Fati, who is currently recovering from a knee injury, Pedri and Ilaix Moriba are also on the reported "untouchables" list.
Koeman is understood to be keen on bringing in Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay on free transfers.
However, the two stars can only be signed if Barca can free up their wage bill. As a consequence, they are said to be willing to let forward Antoine Griezmann go.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is understood to be the second-highest earner at the club, and Barca are currently "testing" the market for potential buyers for the player, who arrived at a cost of €125 million (R2.2 billion) from Atletico Madrid in 2019.
In addition, Philippe Coutinho is also on the club's exit list. The club-record signing has failed to live up to expectations at the Camp Nou and is believed to not be in Koeman's plans going forward.
At the back, Samuel Umtiti is no longer needed after struggling with injuries and with new players emerging in his position. The Blaugrana are also confident of securing the free signing of Manchester City defender Eric Garcia, leaving no space for Umtiti in their line-up.
Lastly, Francisco Trincao, who has been the dubbed the "new Ronaldo" in the past, is also seen as surplus to requirements after failing to convince in his first campaign with the LaLiga giants.
Meanwhile, stars such as Miralem Pjanic and Ousmane Dembele are also not safe from Barca's axe, but the focus of the clubs' chiefs now seems to be on selling the abovementioned four names.
