Los Blancos hosted minnows Mallorca in a 2-0 home victory to go back above FC Barcelona to first place on the log on Wednesday, but there was another sub-plot in that game that has grabbed all the headlines.
In the second half of the clash, the away side introduced a substitute by the name of Luka Romero, a teenage wonderkid who has become the youngster footballer in LaLiga history at 15 years and 219 days old.
According to The42, the Argentinian starlet has broken an 81-year-old record held by Francisco Bao Rodriguez, who played for Celta Vigo at 15 years and 255 days in 1939.
Despite being born in Mexico, Romero's family is from Argentina, and he has already represented the Albiceleste at U15 level.
The attacking midfielder, who only began training with Mallorca's senior team in June, has been likened to the likes of Messi and Spain midfielder David Silva before, perhaps due to being left-footed and technically sound.
