Zinedine Zidane and his son Enzo will become rivals when struggling Real Madrid face Alaves on Saturday.

Los Blancos’ record scoring run ended in their shock 0-1 defeat to Real Betis on Wednesday, which was already Real’s third home game this season where they failed to win.

The surprise defeat left Zidane’s side already seven points behind bitter rivals FC Barcelona, who have won all their five opening fixtures so far.

The game will even be more intriguing because Zidane could be up against his son Enzo, who left Real at the beginning of the season to join Deportivo Alaves.

Enzo, though, has only played 71 minutes during the first five league games for his new club so far, and it remains to be seen whether he will get the chance to impress against his famous father.

"I hope he does not score. We are both competitive - him for Alaves and me for Madrid. I'm happy for him," Zidane said at the pre-match press conference, as quoted by ESPN journalist Dermot Corrigan.

Despite their shaky start to the season, Zidane’s  men remain the favourites against Alaves, who have lost all five games so far, while Real won their last 11 consecutive away games in La Liga.

Enzo is not the only football playing son of famous fathers, and you can find more, including his brother Luca, who is currently Real’s third-choice goalkeeper in the gallery. Theo and Elyaz are Zidane's two other sons, who are both involved in Real's youth setup.
