Zinedine Zidane Responds To Karim Benzema Boos
Manager Zinedine Zidane has responded to Karim Benzema getting booed in Real Madrid’s 2-2 La Liga draw with Valencia on Sunday night.
Los Blancos dropped points at home for the time since last season’s El Clasico loss to FC Barcelona in April, scoring just twice from their 22 shots in the match.
The French striker failed to hit the back of the net with his eight efforts at goal, much to the home crowd’s dismay. Benzema received some whistles for his missed chances, which Zidane feels is normal.
"The crowd helped us and they can do what they want," he told Movistar Plus.
"What happened with the jeering of Karim Benzema is not a problem."
The manager was also asked how he would welcome the striker at the next training session.
"I'll tell him to keep working," he added.
"The most difficult thing is to have chances to score. He didn't score, but has worked a lot and you can't blame a player for missing chances."
Twenty-one-year-old Marco Asensio was the scorer of both Real’s goals, while they were without the suspended Cristiano Ronaldo.
