According to Mundo Deportivo, Claudio Bravo has already agreed personal terms with the Citizens and will join the club for €16 million (R242 million), plus add-ons.
The Chilean is believed to have asked Barcelona's leadership to allow him to join Guardiola's project at the Etihad, and will complete his transfer as soon as Marc-Andre ter Stegen returns from his latest injury.
The 24-year-old German and the 33-year-old Chile keeper shared the first team spot in the Blaugrana's goal last season, with Bravo playing in La Liga and Ter Stegen in all cup competitions.
However, it has been suggested that Ter Stegen is Luis Enrique's preferred No. 1 for this season, which might have influenced Bravo's decision to leave.
Barca are now reportedly looking for a new back-up option for Ter Stegen, and are said to be after Valencia's Diego Alves and Paris Saint-Germain's Alphonse Areola.
The latter spent last season on loan at Villarreal, while Valencia are said to want Alves off their wage bill.
Reports in Italy have also linked former Barcelona keeper Pepe Reina, who now plies his trade for Napoli, with a return to the Camp Nou, but the 33-year-old has since rubbished the speculation.
