Real Madrid will attempt to maintain their unbeaten run when they head over to the city of Barcelona to take on Espanyol.
Teams: Espanyol vs Real Madrid
Venue: Estadi Cornella-El Prat
If recent history is anything to go by, then Espanyol have little to no chance of a win this weekend – it’s been a little under eight years since they last beat Real Madrid, and more than two years since they last took points off them.
Real Madrid have won 14 of the past 17 meetings – the rest of which were draws – and they take a six-match winning streak with them to Catalunya.
Los Blancos had an uninspiring start to their season, drawing 0-0 away to newly-promoted Sporting Gijon, but the optimism of a promising campaign ahead was restored with a 5-0 demolition of Real Betis.
Espanyol have had a mixed start; they have picked up a win and a defeat so far.
Here is how the teams will line up:
Espanyol: Pau, Arbilla, Alvaro, Ciani, Duarte, Sanchez, Javi, Alvarez, Salva, Gerard, Caicedo
Real Madrid: Navas, Carvajal, Pepe, Ramos, Marcelo, Casemiro, Modric, Bale, Isco, Ronaldo, Benzema.
