Sevilla strengthened their hopes for Champions League football next season, after they defeated Deportivo La Coruna 4-3 at Riazor on Saturday afternoon.
Vitolo bagged a brace to cancel out Oriol Riera's earlier strikes, while a penalty from Kevin Gameiro and a Sidnei own-goal handed Sevilla all three points.
The win sees Sevilla remain in fifth spot but are now four points behind fourth-placed Valencia, while Deportivo are unchanged in 16th spot.
Meanwhile, Elche boosted their hopes of staying in La Liga after they beat Almeria 1-0 on Saturday evening.
The game's winning goal arrived as early as the sixth minute, courtesy of a well-placed header from Victor Rodriguez.
Elche moved up to 14th in the La Liga standings, three points clear of the relegation zone, while Almeria remain in the bottom three.
