Zinedine Zidane will be without Gareth Bale, who limped off in the win over Bayern, while Raphael Varane and Pepe are also sidelined.
Sporting Gijon, meanwhile are battling relegation as they sit in 18th spot, five points adrift of safety.
The hosts come into the encounter on the back of a four-game winless run and are running out of time to secure their top flight status.
