Spanish La Liga

Starting XI: Barca v Celta

Spanish La Liga

Teams: FC Barcelona v Celta Vigo

Date: 02 December 2017

Venue: Camp Nou

FC Barcelona will be looking to round off a full year’s worth of consecutive home league victories when they face Celta Vigo at Camp Nou on Saturday.

The match is schedule to get underway at 14h00.

Since drawing 1-1 to Real Madrid on December 3 last year, the Blaugrana have won 18 La Liga matches in a row at Camp Nou. Their immaculate home record has played a role in their early dominance this season.

After a 1-1 draw with second-placed Valencia last weekend, Ernesto Valverde’s side thrashed Real Murcia 5-0 in midweek to march on to the Copa del Rey last 16.

They now face a side that has been buoyed by 1-0 triumphs over Leganés and Eibar in their last two games.

Ninth-placed Celta have impressed up front this season, scoring 24 goals in 13 league games. However, their backline has leaked 19 and will be severely tested against Spain’s most potent attack.

Their away form will also be of concern to Juan Unzué, as they have lost on seven of their last nine La Liga outings.

Unzué, a former Barcelona player and assistant coach, will return to a stadium that holds plenty of happy memories for him. However, he will be eager to become the manager to end the Catalans’ formidable run.

The form guide points to a high-scoring encounter at Camp Nou — and if this is anything to go by, La Liga fans are in for a mouthwatering start to Saturday’s action.

Here's how they line up:

Barca:
Ter Stegen; Roberto, Piqué, Umtiti, Alba; Busquets, Rakitic, Iniesta, Paulinho; Messi, Luis Suárez.

Celta: Rubén Blanco; Hugo Mallo, Fontàs, Sergi Gómez, Brais Méndez; Wass, Jozabed, Lobotka; Iago Aspas, Maxi Gómez, Sisto.
