FC Barcelona suffered their second straight La Liga defeat, as they went down 1-0 at the hands of Real Sociedad.
The hosts took a surprising lead after just five minutes, courtesy of a fine header from 18-year-old Mikel Oyarzabal.
Barcelona nearly drew level in the 33rd minute, as Neymar pulled the ball back for Arda Turan, who was denied by a fine save from Rulli.
Sociedad were quite content to sit back and let the visitors enjoy the all the possession, as Oyarzabal was proving to be a real threat down the left flank.
However, Luis Enrique's charges pushed for an equaliser but were unable to fashion any clear-cut openings, as they headed into the break trailing.
Andres Iniesta was introduced at the start of the second half and he nearly leveled matters in the 55th minute when he forced Rulli into a superb save with an effort form 20-yards out.
Rulli frustrated Barcelona once again in the 73rd minute, as he produced a fine reflex save to deny Lionel Messi from 12-yards out.
The La Liga leaders pushed for an equaliser in the latter stages of the half but were unable to bypass a stubborn Sociedad defence.
Barcelona are now only three points ahead of Atletico Madrid and four points above third place, Real Madrid.
