Ronaldo Nets Winner For Real In Five-Goal Thriller

Spanish La Liga

Result: Real Madrid 3-2 Malaga

Date: 25 November 2017

Venue: Santiago Bernabeu

Cristiano Ronaldo struck the winner for Real Madrid, as they defeated Malaga 3-2 in a five-goal thriller at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Los Blancos broke the deadlock in the ninth minute, when Benzema slotted home from close range after Ronaldo's header had hit the crossbar.

Nine minutes later, Malaga were level as Rolan collected a cross from Keko and calmly slotted past Kiko Casilla from close range.

Malaga's joy was short-lived as Real restored their lead three minutes later, courtesy of a fine header from Casemiro.

Ronaldo nearly added his name to the score-sheet in the 37th minute, but goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez, produced a superb save to deny the Portugese forward.

Los Blancos managed to see out the closing stages of half with ease,  as they went into the break 2-1 up.

Malaga showed great determination in the second half and managed to level matters in the 58th minute, through Chory Castro's long range effort, 2-2.

Los Blancos were eventually awarded a penalty after 75 minutes, when Luka Modric was brought down. Ronaldo had his penalty saved but was on hand to slot home the rebound, 3-2.

Ronaldo had the ball in the back of the net once again in the 88th minute but his strike was flagged for offside.

Nevertheless, the score remained 3-2 to Zinedine Zidane's charges at the full-time whistle.
