Luis Suarez was among the goals for FC Barcelona as they registered a 3-0 win over newly promoted Girona on Saturday evening.
Aleix Vidal was handed his first start of the season, as he started in the alongside Messi and Suarez.
The Catalan giants looked threatening from the onset, although Girona did create a couple chances after 10 minutes with Marc-Andre Ter Stegen making the stops.
Barca eventually took the lead in the 17th minute as Jordi Alba's long-range strike struck Aday and sailed into the net for the own goal.
The Catalan giants continued to dominate and they went close to getting a second goal after 38 minutes but Paulinho headed wide from close range.
The score remained 1-0 as the sides entered the halftime break.
Barca doubled their lad three minutes into the second half as Vidal's flick found Suarez, whose shot was deflected into the net by Iraizoz.
Ernesto Valverde opted for a change in the 67th minute as Paulinho made way for Sergio Busquets.
Suarez eventually got his name on the score-sheet in the 69th minute as he latched onto a pass from Sergi Roberto before calmly firing past Gorka.
Girona nearly pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute as Pons surged into the box, before blazing over the crossbar from close range.
Ernesto Valverde's charges managed to see out the closing stage with ease as they maintain their 100 percent start to the season.
The win also sees Barca move seven points clear of Real Madrid, who defeated Alaves earlier in the day.
