A brace from Lionel Messi and a solitary strike from Luis Suarez saw FC Barcelona cruise to a 3-0 win over Sevilla the Camp Nou.
Messi missed the last La Liga encounter due to suspension, but was brought back into the line-up to face his favourite opponent.
The hosts nearly broke the deadlock after four minutes as Messi tried find the top corner but saw his effort crash against the crossbar.
Sevilla nearly took a surprising lead after 16 minutes but Marc-Andre Ter Stegen produced a smart save to keep out Steven N'Zonzi's header.
Barca eventually broke the deadlock in the 25th minute courtesy of a sublime bicycle-kick from Luis Suarez.
The lead was doubled three minutes later as Suarez turned provider to cut the ball back for Messi, who calmly slots home from close range, 2-0.
The hosts grabbed their third goal in the 33rd minute as Messi bagged his second by smashing the ball into the bottom corner, after Sevilla failed to deal with a corner kick.
The score remained 3-0 the La Liga champions as the referee brought an end to proceedings in the first half.
Luis Enrique's charges continued to dominated upon resumption of the second half, although Sevilla did look a bit more lively in the second half.
Ter Stegen was called into action after 62 minutes as he produced a fine save to tip Sarabia's close range effort over the crossbar.
With Barca comfortably leading, Enrique opted for a change in the 78th minute as Gerard Pique made way for Jordi Alba for the final 12 minutes.
Things got worse for Sevilla in the closing stages, as Vitolo was sent off for picking up his second yellow card for a late challenge on Neymar.
The home side managed to see out the closing stages with relative ease as they keep the pressure on Real Madrid.
