Atletico Madrid missed two penalties, but still managed to secure three points as they defeated Osasuna 3-0 on Saturday evening.
Diego Simeone opted to leave Antoine Griezmann and Saul Niguez on the bench, as Angel Correa and Fernando Torres led the line.
Atletico enjoyed most of the ball in the opening exchanges, but the struggled to carve out any clear-cut chances.
The hosts eventually broke the deadlock in the 30th minute as Yannick Carrasco picked up the ball from 25-yards out and drilled the ball into the bottom corner.
The hosts could have doubled their lead in their lead in the 38th minute when when Nicolas Gaitan picked out Diego Godin, who headed wide from close range.
Nonetheless, the score remained 1-0 as the sides entered the halftime break.
Atletico doubled their lead shortly after the break as Carrasco got his second goal of the game heading home from six-yards out.
The hosts got their third goal after the hour-mark, as Felipe Luis got his name on the score-sheet with a clinical effort from 12-yards out.
Atletico were awarded a penalty in the 880th minute. Carrasco stepped up and looked to complete his hat-trick, but his effort was saved by Salvatore Sirigu.
Simeone's charges were awarded another penalty two minutes later. Ghanaian midfielder, Thomas Partey stepped up but also saw his kick saved by Sirigu.
