Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has reportedly told one of his stars that he can leave Los Blancos in this transfer window.
Attacking midfielder James Rodriguez has been linked with a move away from the Spanish giants several times over the past few months, having seemingly become unsettled at the club.
The Colombian enjoyed a solid first season at the Santiago Bernabeu, but injuries and reports of ill-discipline have left him out in the cold at Real, and, according to Marca, Zidane and the club have told him to look for a new team.
Rodriguez was unable to secure a regular spot in Real's starting XI last season, and with Zidane taking an immediate liking to Marco Asensio, who has returned from a loan spell at Espanyol in 2015/16, competition for places has increased.
The playmaker now seems to be behind Isco, Asensio and Lucas Vazquez in the pecking order at the club, and despite reports suggesting he wants to stay, he may now have to seek a move.
He has been heavily linked with French giants Paris Saint-Germain, while there has also been talk of interest from a few Premier League sides.
The player's agent, Jorge Mendes, has reportedly been told to consider other options for his client, who seems destined for an exit from the 11-time UEFA Champions League winners.
