Reports: Real Madrid Made Contact With Premier League Superstar
Real Madrid have not made a "Galactico" signing since the arrival of Gareth Bale in 2013, but Los Blancos are now reportedly in contact with a Premier League superstar.
The defending LaLiga champions are currently 16 points behind log leaders FC Barcelona, and already seem out of the 2017/18 league title race. As a result, club president Florentino Perez is already planning ahead for the coming season.
Zinedine Zidane favourite Eden Hazard is reportedly the club's main priority for the transfer window after the current campaign, and Real have already made contact with his representatives, according to Radio Monte Carlo and as cited by Spanish publication AS.
As a consequence, Hazard, whose contract with Chelsea expires in 2020 only, rejected two extensions from the Blues, despite the Premier League champions being keen to make him the highest paid player in England.
The Blues reportedly offered Hazard more than the €17.6 million (R263 million) annually that Paul Pogba is earning at Manchester United.
"Eden has turned down a proposal to extend his contract so that he can, if necessary, deal with the interest from Real Madrid," Hazard's father recently stated.
The report suggested that Real representatives have reached out to Hazard's agents to tell them they will table a serious offer for the Belgian after the season to make him the club's next "Galactico" signing.
