There are rumours that the Blaugrana are still interested in signing the Brazilian playmaker in January, despite having three bids turned down by his Merseyside club at the beginning of the season.
According to Spanish publication Diario Gol, Messi is not happy that the club is putting all their eggs in one basket, and has now suggested three players he would rather spend money on.
The report stated the Argentine would prefer to see France international Thomas Lemar, Lyon's Nabil Fekir or Algerian Riyad Mahrez at the Camp Nou.
Apparently, the 30-year-old expects all three players to cost a fraction of the price Coutinho would go for in today's market.
