An FC Barcelona star reportedly wants to quit the Catalan club for Manchester City, where he would reunite with Pep Guardiola.
According to the Daily Express, Sergio Busquets will turn down any new contract offer at the Camp Nou in order to force a move to the Citizens next season.
The midfielder has been linked with Manchester United several times over the past two campaigns, but the Spaniard is reportedly interested in joining the Old Trafford club's rivals, where he would be able to work with Guardiola once again.
With Busquets' contract with the Blaugrana expiring in 2019, City are said to be open to the idea of luring the player, who could be a potential replacement for Yaya Toure, to England.
The Ivorian is rumoured to be leaving the Manchester club at the end of the campaign, with the player's agent recently revealing that the Citizens have given no indication they will offer Toure a new deal.
The report also claimed that Busquets has been offered a new contract by the Spanish club, but the Spaniard apparently has no intention of staying at Barca.
The 27-year-old broke into Barcelona's first team under Guardiola, and has become one of the side's most important players.
