According to Marca, president Florentino Perez, CEO Jose Angel Sanchez and manager Zinedine Zidane have begun to look for players who can compete with Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Benzema.
The French attacker has come in for most of the criticism over the past year following his struggles in front of goal.
As a result, Marca suggest that Los Blancos are looking at one of Mauro Icardi, Harry Kane, Alexis Sanchez and Timo Werner to replace him.
The only negative about signing one of these four players is that they are all cup-tied for the UEFA Champions League as they have all featured in the competition for their respective clubs this season.
The same report suggested that RB Leipzig's Werner seems the likeliest of the four options to make the move in January.
Despite the club's search for a new forward, it is believed that Zidane still considers Benzema his first-choice striker.
