A Real Madrid starlet recently revealed that he rejected a chance to play for his club's bitter rivals FC Barcelona.
Spanish youngster Marco Asensio has impressed Real's fans so far this season, and after he saying he likes both the Los Blancos and Spain jersey in a recent interview, he admitted he could have joined the Blaugrana before signing for Zinedine Zidane's side.
"I like both, they're the best," he told Cadena Ser, after being asked which jersey he prefers between the Spain shirrt and the Los Blancos kit.
"I had chances to go to Barcelona and other teams, but I came to Madrid. I couldn't wear the Barcelona shirt now."
Asensio also spoke about his ambitions at Real, insisting he wants to have a long career at the Santiago Bernabeu.
"My aspiration is to be a starter, but there are important players who have spent many years at the club," he added.
"I feel comfortable in the playmaker role, but I can play on the left, on the right and even pivot.
"I want to win all the titles, be a reference for the team and for the fans, and I want to live my story at Real Madrid."
The 20-year-old has featured three times so far for the club this season, scoring twice and assisting a further strike.
