Spanish giants Real Madrid have had some fantastic strikers in their time, but who has been the club's costliest purchases in the attacking department? Today, we take a look at the 10 most expensive forwards Los Blancos have bought.

According to Transfermarkt, Welshman Gareth Bale is the club's most expensive forward they have ever purchased. The former Tottenham Hotspur star cost the club €101 million (R1.7 billion).
In second place is Real's record goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo, who cost the Spanish giants €94 million (R1.6 billion) back in 2009.
Brazilian superstar Ronaldo de Lima is their third most expensive striker, having cost them €45 million (R777 million) when they bought him from Inter Milan.
Fourth place goes to former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben. The Dutchman made the move to Spain in 2007 and cost Real €36 million (R622 million).
Fifth place is a tie between two French strikers, Karim Benzema and Nicolas Anelka. The pair were each bought for €35 million (R604 million).
In seventh spot is Argentina winger Angel Di Maria. The sale of the winger is still questioned by many at the club, but he arrived for a fee of €33 million (R570 million).
Eight and ninth place goes to two forgotten heroes of the club. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar signed from Ajax for a fee of €27 million (R466 million), while Brazilian striker Robinho joined for €24 million (R414 million).
In at 10th is Bosnian footballer Elvir Baljic, a striker not many people will have heard of, but who came at quite a big price, costing the club €15.6 million (R269 million).
