Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has revealed why Los Blancos did not sign French midfielder Paul Pogba.

Real are a club famous for signing big-name players, so-called "Galacticos", such as David Beckham, Ronaldo de Lima and Cristiano Ronaldo, among many others.
Perez, however, has insisted that, before signing these superstars, there needs to be a spot in the team available before luring them to the club, which was not the case with Pogba.
"The players have to have a place and, for example, I did not see it last season with Pogba," he told Spanish radio station esRadio.
"Zidane has had contact with the player for several years because he has followed him, as happened with Varane.
"But, at 18, few players play for Real Madrid. You have to be patient."

Pogba signed for Manchester United at the beginning of last season instead, becoming the most expensive player in the history of football in the process.
