Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has revealed that the Catalan giants have two different game plans, but they always stay true to the Barcelona philosophy.
Talking during an Adidas promotional event in Spain, Messi described the two different passing styles Barcelona use - but insisted that the players always try stay true to the overall philosophy.
"We have two things, a more direct game and another passing game,” Messi told the media
“We can look for the counter-attack, with gaps behind their defenders, but there is also the other way of playing which we haven't lost, which is the Barca philosophy."
Messi continued by saying that he believes the club is ready to win titles this season, especially after their "change in attitude" following the defeat against Real Sociedad.
"Since Anoeta, the team's attitude has changed, our motivation, the way we go out onto the pitch is different. The way we press, get the ball back and keep it, it's not like we did before,” he added
"You could see that after Anoeta, the players wanted to change the image that they had given of themselves and luckily we managed it.”
The Argentine concluded that he has been very happy with the team’s recent performances, but he won’t get to carried away just yet as they haven’t won anything yet.
"We are presently enjoying great form. But we also know that we haven't won anything yet. We hope to carry on like this in order to win something,” he said.
"The team's objective is the same as always, we play for Barca and are therefore obliged to try to win everything. Unfortunately, last year we didn't manage even one title; we hope we do in this one.”
Barcelona are currently sitting in second place on the La Liga table and they are one point behind arch rivals Real Madrid.
