Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has been linked with a move to FC Barcelona in recent weeks, but according to a recent report, Lionel Messi would prefer the Catalan club to sign this player instead.
The Germany international will be a free agent at the end of the season, and rumours suggest that he is looking to move back to La Liga.
However, English publication the Daily Mail believes Messi would prefer to see Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho at the Camp Nou instead of the Gunners star.
The report stated that the Argentine has told the club they should pull out all the stops to bring the Brazilian to Spain next season.
Messi is apparently not convinced of Ozil's consistency throughout a regular season, and feels he tends to go missing in big games.
The 29-year-old Germany star has made 10 appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring one goal and assisting three further strikes, while Coutinho has run out 12 times for Liverpool, scoring five times and assisting four further goals.
