Ronaldo Out Of Form As Real Draw Madrid Derby

La Liga
Result: Atletico 1-1 Real Madrid
Date: 4 October 2015
Venue: Estadio Vicente Calderón
Real Madrid let in a late equaliser in the Madrid derby to draw 1-1 with Atletico in their La Liga clash on Sunday night.
Los Blancos took the early lead in the ninth minute as Karim Benzema opened his account. Carvajal beat Filipe on the right flank before sending a superb cross towards the French striker who glanced a header into the top corner.
The hosts had a great opportunity to level matters after winning a penalty in the 21st minute. Tiago pounced on the loose ball after a poor touch from Sergio Ramos, which forced the defender to foul him inside the area, giving Atletico the spot-kick.
However, Antoin Griezmann failed to make the most of the chance as his penalty was brilliantly saved by Keylor Navas with the ball seemingly destined for the bottom corner of the goal.
Cristiano Ronaldo had a frustrating outing and struggled to put his shots on target on the night. The Portugal international swiveled inside the area in the 74th minute to make room for a shot but sent the effort high and wide of the target.
Real Madrid did well defensively in the second half as they kept out Los Rojiblancos who were determined to find their equalising goal.
However, the defence leaked in the last seven minutes as the hosts made it 1-1. Jackson Martinez sped down the left wing before sending a low cross towards Griezmann whose flick-on was blocked but fell for Luciano Vietto to smash home.
